What to do with your autumn bounty?

Autumn Eats- With so many delicious and nutritious fruits and vegetables being harvested right now, we thought it would be good to know what’s in season, how it can benefit your body, and also give some tips on how to eat them.

Here is a list of some autumn foods:

  • acorn squash
  • apple
  • broccoli
  • butternut squash
  • chard
  • cranberries
  • delicata squash
  • escarole
  • figs
  • grapes
  • leek
  • pear
  • pumpkin
  • red cabbage
  • shiitake mushroom
  • sweet potato

Several of these are good for strengthening hair and nails (acorn squash, chard, red cabbage).  Even more support healthy skin (butternut squash, cranberries, delicata squash, escarole, figs, pumpkin, shiitake mushrooms, sweet potato).  Others help to detoxify (apple, pear).
